Deck overview

This is a general-power Jeskai Hero tribal deck led by Captain America, Team Leader. Its main plan is to establish Director Nick Fury, cast discounted Heroes, and use Captain America's haste and +1/+1 counters to build a fast attacking board. Director Nick Fury also improves access by looking at four cards whenever it attacks. The deck gains further card flow from Jarvis, Earth's Mightiest Butler, Kindred Discovery, Folk Hero, and combat-based engines such as Professor Hulk. Its best closing tools are War Machine, Avenging Arsenal, Thor, Asgard's Avenger, Captain Marvel, Apex Avenger, and Firebird, Blazing Ranger. The list has respectable removal and several protection effects, but it lacks a compact infinite win, proactive denial, and reliable stack coverage. Its ordinary plan assembles around turn 6, becomes a must-answer combat board around turn 8, and usually finishes around turn 10 if its key creatures survive.
