Smaug the Impenetrable by Avoytyr

Format: Commander

Commander: Smaug the Impenetrable

Bracket: 4

Deck overview

This is a Rakdos Treasure/Dragon deck helmed by Smaug the Impenetrable, built around one core loop: deal noncombat damage to the big indestructible dragon and convert every point into Treasure tokens. Pain for All, Blazing Sunsteel, Cut Propulsion, Self-Destruct, Pestilence, and Star of Extinction all feed Smaug damage, while Dragon combat payoffs like Goldspan Dragon, Ancient Copper Dragon, and Cavern-Hoard Dragon generate Treasures the old-fashioned way. The hoard then converts into wins through Revel in Riches, Alchemist's Talent's level 3, the drain package (Ingenious Artillerist, Reckless Fireweaver, Mayhem Devil, Marionette Apprentice, Mirkwood Bats), and Aggravated Assault extra combats. The commander is a major engine but not the only one - the 99 carries multiple independent win lines.
