Deck overview

This Jund deck is led by The Muckslinger Gang, an unusual commander that grants +3/+3 to creature cards in your hand, library, graveyard, exile, and on the stack, as well as to non-combat creatures on the battlefield. This static bonus turns low-cost mana dorks and utility creatures into 4-power threats before they even enter the battlefield. The deck leverages this power boost to trigger ferocious draw engines like Garruk's Uprising, Elemental Bond, and Greater Good, drawing huge numbers of cards from humble one-mana spells. Once the engine is online, the deck transitions from value generation into explosive life-drain and direct damage using Jarad, Golgari Lich Lord, Sarkhan's Unsealing, Ziatora, the Incinerator, and Soulblast. Because the power buff drops when attacking, the deck frequently prefers sacrificing inflated creatures for massive token swarms via Tend the Pests or direct player burn rather than relying solely on traditional combat.
