Format: Commander

Commander: Hakbal of the Surging Soul

Bracket: 3

Deck overview

An aggressive Simic Merfolk deck built around Hakbal of the Surging Soul. Hakbal turns every combat into a mass-explore engine: each Merfolk finds lands or grows with +1/+1 counters, and the attack trigger drops extra lands to keep casting more lords and token makers. The primary plan is to go wide, make the team unblockable with islandwalk and Herald of Secret Streams, then finish with three large swings. Secondary lines steal wins from opponents: Thada Adel and Thieving Skydiver take artifacts, Bribery takes a creature, and Walk the Aeons buys extra attack phases. Thrasios, Triton Hero is a value card in the 99, not a hidden commander.
