Deck overview

This mono-black deck is built under a strict exhibition constraint where every single nonland card costs exactly one mana. Led by Ashnod, Flesh Mechanist, the strategy focuses on deploying resilient 1-drop creatures such as Gravecrawler, Cult Conscript, and Forsaken Miner to feed Ashnod's attack trigger. Each attack sacrifices a creature to generate a tapped Powerstone token, ramping colorless mana to fund activated abilities. The deck converts excess mana into 3/3 Zombie tokens, card draw via Dockside Chef, or buffs through Tarrian's Soulcleaver and Sadistic Glee. While the deck curves out flawlessly and boasts immense density of cheap creature removal, its lack of high-CMC spells, stack interaction, and overrun effects forces a slow, grindy combat finish that takes several turns to eliminate the entire table.
