Deck overview

This deck is a Grixis Midrange Reanimator build commanded by Sauron, Lord of the Rings. Its primary strategy focuses on stocking the graveyard during the opening turns through landcycling, creature cycling, and cheap looting spells, followed by deploying mid-cost reanimation spells to cheat massive threats into play ahead of schedule. While the commander costs eight mana, its cast trigger provides built-in card advantage, board presence, and reanimation even through countermagic. The deck features a redundant suite of impactful creatures, including The Balrog of Moria, Nicol Bolas, and Scourge of the Throne, which overwhelm opponents through multi-turn combat pressure. Interaction is balanced with efficient spot removal, sweepers like Blasphemous Act and Living Death, and potent reactive spells such as Glen Elendra's Answer. Lacking fast-mana acceleration and direct tutors, the deck thrives in casual and focused multiplayer tables through sustained midgame recursion and heavy combat damage.
