Kress Kill by user6098126

Format: Commander

Commander: Kess, Dissident Mage

Bracket: 4

Deck overview

This is a Grixis spellslinger-combo deck that uses Kess, Dissident Mage as a value engine rather than a required combo piece. The real plan is to flood the battlefield with spell-cost reducers like Baral, Chief of Compliance, Goblin Electromancer, Helm of Awakening, and Primal Amulet, draw through the deck with Rhystic Study, Mystic Remora, and magecraft triggers, then explode into an arbitrarily large Mana Geyser + Reiterate buyback loop. Kess supplies a second cast of a key instant or sorcery from the graveyard, which makes the engine resilient and lets a single Furygale Flocking or Sorin's Vengeance act as a finish. Alternate win paths include storm dragons from Elemental Eruption, mass theft via Mass Manipulation and Blatant Thievery, and a Peer into the Abyss burst. Despite a 3.55 average mana value, the deck accelerates through cost reduction and rituals, and it does not need the commander to execute its primary game plan.
