Deck overview

This deck is a Grixis Amass Midrange strategy commanded by Sauron, the Dark Lord. The primary game plan focuses on accelerating mana through low-cost rocks to cast Sauron by Turn 5. Once on the battlefield, Sauron punishes opponents' spellcasting by steadily amassing an Orc Army. On Turn 6, attacking with an evasive Army triggers the Ring temptation, allowing the pilot to discard their spent hand and draw four fresh cards every turn cycle. This massive card velocity feeds the graveyard and hand with devastating board-clearing and overrun effects like Chandra's Ignition, Assault on Osgiliath, and Living Death. Built-in protection via Sauron's legendary-sacrifice ward makes single-target removal extremely costly for opponents, while cheap countermagic guards against sweepers.
