soveriegn counters by n0thinbutbonez

Format: Commander

Commander: Sovereign Okinec Ahau

Bracket: 3

Deck overview

Sovereign Okinec Ahau helms a Selesnya +1/+1 counter aggro deck. The commander is both engine and finisher: each attack converts existing counters into a larger counter pulse, especially when combined with doubling effects. Backup plans include Kalonian Hydra's counter-doubling, Felidar Retreat's Landfall token/pump loop, and Overwhelming Stampede or Akroma's Will alpha strikes. A secondary token path exists through Doubling Season and Felidar Retreat, while a tall-creature path uses Unnatural Growth or Aettir and Priwen. There is no hidden commander; the deck is built to make Sovereign's attack trigger snowball, with enough independent counter synergy to function if he is absent.
