Shirei, Shizo's Caretaker (Demons) by nvater

Format: Commander

Commander: Shirei, Shizo's Caretaker

Bracket: 3

Deck overview

Shirei, Shizo's Caretaker anchors a monoblack Shadowborn Apostle build that turns thirty 1/1 Clerics into a reusable demon-tutoring engine. The commander recurs every sacrificed Apostle at end step, allowing repeated activations of Shadowborn Apostle's six-creature sacrifice to cheat Demons into play. The primary finish is Liliana's Contract's upkeep trigger once four differently named Demons are on the battlefield. Secondary paths include Blood Artist/Zulaport Cutthroat drain from mass sacrifice, aided by Thrumming Stone ripple chains, and beatdown under Archfiend of Despair. The deck can tutor aggressively and has strong mana acceleration, though its lack of counterspells and artifact removal leave it exposed to specific hate.
