Deck overview

Auntie Ool, Cursewretch helms a Jund attrition and combo deck centered on -1/-1 counter distribution. The strategy thrives on turning counter placement into massive card advantage and opponent life drain. Early turns focus on mana ramp and deploying Auntie Ool alongside low-cost counter generators like Channeler Initiate, Dusk Urchins, and Sinister Gnarlbark. Once the engine is online, the deck suppresses opposing creature boards through asymmetric stax pieces such as Kulrath Knight and Maha, Its Feathers Night, which invalidate opposing attackers and make every counter lethal. The primary path to victory is an infinite loop between Blowfly Infestation and Hapatra, Vizier of Poisons, which triggers Auntie Ool to drain all opponents of their life totals on the turn it resolves. Backup routes leverage Yawgmoth, Thran Physician, The Scorpion God, and Triumph of the Hordes to overwhelm surviving players. While resilient against creature-heavy tables, the list relies heavily on natural card draw and lacks stack-based protection.
