Deck overview

This deck is a specialized Sphinx tribal spellslinger engine commanded by Y'shtola, Night's Blessed. It leverages the 'any number of copies' rule on Sphinx's Approach by running 25 copies in the 99. Each Approach draws two cards, triggers Y'shtola's noncreature burn to drain opponents, and can exile five copies from the graveyard to cheat a massive Sphinx directly onto the battlefield. The centerpiece payoff, Sphinx of the Chimes, allows the pilot to discard duplicate Approaches to draw four cards repeatedly, churning through the library and generating explosive velocity. Cost reducers such as Locket of Yesterdays and Sapphire Medallion ensure that chaining Approaches remains cheap. Once the engine gets moving, the deck floods the board with threats like The Ur-Sphinx, Magister Sphinx, and Sphinx of the Final Word, finishing opponents through combined burn and an overwhelming flying assault enabled by Medomai the Ageless.
