Deck overview

This Queen Marchesa deck executes a classic Mardu Aikido control strategy, leveraging political diplomacy, pillowfort deterrents, and combat manipulation. Early turns focus on mana fixing and establishing the monarch with Queen Marchesa or courts, generating steady card flow. Instead of racing to assemble fast combo wins, the deck controls the tempo of the table by making attacks against it unprofitable through Windborn Muse, deathtouch tokens, and rattlesnake threats like Brash Taunter and Phyrexian Vindicator. Once opposing boards grow formidable, the deck resolves mass-goad spells such as Taunt from the Rampart and Disrupt Decorum on Turn 6, forcing opponents to annihilate each other in unblocked combat. The remaining survivors are finished off on Turn 8 through redirected lethal damage (Deflecting Palm, Comeuppance, Backlash) or burn from Court of Ire. The deck boasts exceptional resilience and independent win routes, making it resilient against targeted disruption.
