Deck overview

This deck is a Golgari Aristocrats and +1/+1 Counters midrange engine helmed by Tom, Bert, and William. The strategy leverages early creature deployment, recursive fodder like Teacher's Pest, and efficient sacrifice outlets to cycle cards and accumulate resources. Once the commander is deployed on Turn 4–5, its ability to convert sacrificed creatures' power into card selection fuels consistent hand replenishment while sending fodder into the graveyard. Crucially, when Tom, Bert, and William die as a creature, they return to the battlefield as an artifact, keeping the draw engine active through creature sweepers. The deck translates resource dominance into victory around Turn 6–7 by deploying scaling threats such as Mazirek, Kraul Death Priest, World War Hulk, or Sazh Katzroy. Mazirek transforms repeated sacrifices into massive team-wide +1/+1 counter buffs, supported by trample enablers like Training Regimen and aristocrat drains like Blood Artist to close out the table across two combat cycles.
