budget gruul halana by Buddadragon

Format: Commander

Commander: Halana and Alena, Partners

Bracket: 3

Deck overview

This deck is a **Gruul +1/+1 counters aggro** strategy led by **Halana and Alena, Partners**. The core plan is to deploy cheap ramp, cast the commander on turn 3, then use its combat trigger to place X +1/+1 counters on another creature (where X is Halana and Alena s power) and grant haste. The deck contains over a dozen cards that generate additional counters or benefit from them, creating a snowballing board of trampling, hasty threats. Draw comes from conditional repeatable effects like **Garruk s Uprising** and one-shot spells like **Harmonize**. The only tutor is the random **Signal the Clans**. Win conditions are purely combat based: overwhelming with big tramplers (e.g., **Ghalta, Primal Hunger**, **End Raze Forerunners**, **Dragonlord Atarka**), sometimes accelerated by **Wild Beastmaster** or **Thundering Raiju**. There are no infinite combos, no stack interaction, and only a moderate recursion suite centered on **Evolution Witness**. The deck is a classic mid power casual build that relies on sticking the commander and building an unstoppable board.
