Deck overview

This deck is a Gruul Werewolf tribal aggro strategy led by Tovolar, Dire Overlord. Its primary goal is to flood the board with low-cost Wolves and Werewolves during the opening turns, deploy Tovolar on Turn 3, and begin drawing cards immediately through combat damage triggers. Tovolar solves the historical weakness of Werewolves by forcing nightfall whenever you control three or more pack members at upkeep, transforming human Werewolves into larger, high-pressure threats. Once in night mode, Tovolar, the Midnight Scourge provides mana sinks for targeted trample and power buffs, accelerating damage against life totals. Mid-game turns focus on deploying massive combat multipliers such as Unnatural Growth and Beastmaster Ascension, alongside token generators like Tovolar's Huntmaster and Hollowhenge Overlord. The deck closes out games through overwhelming physical pressure, although it remains susceptible to opposing sweepers due to limited defensive spells.
