Deck overview

This deck is a Simic +1/+1 counters midrange deck led by Sab-Sunen, Luxa Embodied. The strategy focuses on accelerating mana in the early turns, deploying Sab-Sunen on Turn 4, and utilizing its odd/even counter mechanic to alternate between drawing extra cards and swinging with an indestructible 6/6 trampler. A rich suite of counter modifiers like Innkeeper's Talent, Power Conduit, and Forgotten Ancient allows precise control over Sab-Sunen's counter count, enabling simultaneous card draw and attack eligibility. Backup threats like Mossborn Hydra, Tifa Lockhart, and Ouroboroid scale rapidly with +1/+1 counters and landfall triggers. Combat evasion from Herald of Secret Streams and decisive overruns from Preposterous Proportions turn tall boards into unblockable table kills. While the deck lacks proactive stax pieces, it protects its game plan with cheap hexproof instants and efficient counterspells.
