Format: Commander

Commander: Meren of Clan Nel Toth

Bracket: 3

Deck overview

Meren of Clan Nel Toth is a Golgari aristocrats-reanimator engine. The primary plan is to sacrifice creatures to generate experience counters, then use Meren's end-step trigger to recur Gray Merchant of Asphodel and Kokusho, the Evening Star, draining the table while Grave Pact effects strip opposing boards. Secondary paths include Protean Hulk value piles, Cauldron of Essence and Journey to Eternity as backup recursion, and combat via a growing Carrion Feeder or Wight of the Reliquary. Meren is the command-zone recursion engine; the deck is built to maximize her trigger with cheap sac outlets and death triggers. There is no hidden commander; Journey to Eternity // Atzal, Cave of Eternity is a role player, not a second commander.
