Deck overview

This deck is an aggressive mono-black reanimator and combo strategy built around Baron Helmut Zemo. The game plan revolves around loading the graveyard with high-mana, pip-heavy black cards using cheap tutors, self-mill, and the commander's connive ability. Once fifteen black mana symbols fill the graveyard, Baron Zemo attacks and activates his boast ability to cast up to three devastating spells for free, such as Peer into the Abyss, Rise of the Dark Realms, or Doomsday Excruciator. Alternatively, the deck can bypass the commander entirely by reanimating game-winning creatures like Vilis, Broker of Blood, Hoarding Broodlord, or K'rrik, Son of Yawgmoth as early as Turn 3 or 4. Once Peer into the Abyss resolves, Skirge Familiar converts excess drawn cards into abundant mana to cast Gray Merchant of Asphodel and Syr Konrad, the Grim, draining all opponents simultaneously for a decisive same-turn kill.
