Deck overview

This deck is a classic Mardu aggro build centered around Kaalia of the Vast. The core objective is to ramp into Kaalia by Turn 3 or 4, provide haste or protection where possible, and immediately attack to cheat high-CMC Angels, Demons, and Dragons onto the battlefield tapped and attacking. Payoffs like Aurelia, the Warleader, Neriv, Heart of the Storm, Angel of Despair, and Vile Mutilator provide sudden damage spikes, board control, and extra combat steps. While the deck boasts immense burst damage and high threat density in the creature suite, it relies heavily on the commander connecting in combat and lacks deep card draw engines, making it vulnerable to well-timed spot removal and sweepers. Backup reanimation and hard-casting high-end flyers ensure the deck can still contest longer games if the primary Kaalia engine is answered.
