Deck overview

This Golgari deck is led by Aphelia, Viper Whisperer and focuses on aggressive Snake tribal synergy, deathtouch combat trades, and asymmetric life-halving triggers. The early game focuses on deploying two-mana ramp spells and low-cost evasive or deathtouch Snakes such as River Boa, Marsh Boa, and Changeling Outcast. Once Aphelia is established alongside a wide board, the deck utilizes her {4}{B} combat ability to slash defending opponents' life totals in half, quickly turning modest combat damage into lethal board states. High-impact permanents like Seshiro the Anointed, Ohran Frostfang, and Wound Reflection provide game-ending damage amplification and card draw engines. While the deck possesses resilient combat lines and strong graveyard recursion, its reliance on combat connections leaves it vulnerable to well-timed creature removal, fog effects, and board wipes.
