Deck overview

This deck is a mono-black aristocrats strategy commanded by Shirei, Shizo's Caretaker. The primary game plan revolves around exploiting Shirei's unique ability to return creatures with power 1 or less to the battlefield at the beginning of each end step. By combining Shirei with free sacrifice outlets like Ashnod's Altar or Phyrexian Altar and disruptive 1-power creatures like Burglar Rat, Virus Beetle, and Serrated Scorpion, the deck creates an engine that triggers four times per table rotation. This rapidly empties opponents' hands, controls the board with Dictate of Erebos, and drains opposing life totals. For alternate win conditions, the list includes the two-card infinite combo of Enduring Tenacity and Exquisite Blood, as well as game-ending payoffs like Gray Merchant of Asphodel, Syr Konrad, the Grim, and Bolas's Citadel. The deck excels at grinding out multiplayer games through asymmetric attrition.
