Deck overview

This deck is a mono-blue pure permission exhibition build centered on Ertai, Wizard Adept. Containing 57 counterspells, 40 basic Islands, and 2 modal double-faced lands, the list takes the draw-go archetype to an extreme conceptual limit. The deck aims to play a land every turn, deploy its commander on turn 3, and hold all mana open to counter key opposing spells. With free countermagic like Force of Will, Fierce Guardianship, and Pact of Negation, it can protect Ertai while threatening repeatable stack disruption. However, because the list excludes all mana acceleration, recurring card draw engines, and standalone win conditions, it faces severe multiplayer card-disadvantage dynamics. Trading one-for-one against three opponents rapidly drains its resources, and its only path to victory is attacking 120 times with a 1/1 commander. It functions effectively as a novelty permission deck that dictates the stack but struggles to close games.
