Smaugy, with a chance of... by AydrianOfBear

Commander: Smaug the Impenetrable

Bracket: 3

Deck overview

Smaug the Impenetrable is the engine and finisher of this deck. The plan is to ramp to seven mana, cast Smaug, then point noncombat damage at it so each ping creates a Treasure and, with the right amplifier, damages every opponent. Pyrohemia, Pain for All, and Blazing Sunsteel are the amplifiers that turn ordinary damage into a table-wide kill. Treasures are then spent on X-spell burn, drained through sacrifice payoffs, or stockpiled for Hellkite Tyrant's artifact win. Smaug the Magnificent is a hidden second Smaug that supplies recurring Treasure and a damaging attack trigger. The deck has a fallback Treasure/drain plan if Smaug is answered, but losing him badly slows the primary strategy.
