Deck overview

This deck is a Grixis aggro-midrange strategy commanded by Doctor Doom, King of Latveria. It unites Villain tribal synergies with a dedicated discard-and-madness engine. In the early game, the deck accelerates mana with low-cost rocks and establishes filtering creatures like Psychic Frog and Inti, Seneschal of the Sun. Doctor Doom enters on Turn 4, immediately granting menace and triggering connive to filter cards and burn opponents whenever lands are discarded. During the mid-game, explosive synergy pieces like Archfiend of Ifnir, Bone Miser, Loki, the Deceiver, and Living Laser capitalize on wheels such as Windfall and Tolarian Winds to dismantle opposing creature boards, generate massive token armies, and drain life totals. The deck closes games around Turn 8 through wide, menacing combat damage combined with direct land-discard burn, while retaining robust recovery potential via Living Death and commander recast triggers.
