Deck overview

This deck executes a mono-blue control game plan spearheaded by Wiccan, Rising Magician. Rather than racing toward fast combo finishes, the deck grinds down opposing threats using an extensive package of debuff and incapacitating Auras such as Eaten by Piranhas, Retro-Mutation, and Reality Acid. Wiccan turns every noncreature cast into a temporary exile trigger, resetting blockers, reusing enter-the-battlefield permanents like Archaeomancer or Cryogen Relic, and triggering repeated sacrifice loops with Reality Acid. Victory is achieved through evasive token swarms produced by Talrand, Sky Summoner, Murmuring Mystic, and Homunculus Horde, backed by Helm of the Host and Scourge of Fleets. Counterspells and flash-speed disruption protect the board while flying attackers close out the game over several turns.
