Deck overview

This Kess, Dissident Mage deck is a dedicated Polymorph control strategy designed to cheat game-ending creatures into play ahead of curve. By omitting small utility creatures from the 99, every polymorph effect reliably hits one of six devastating threats: Jin-Gitaxias, Core Augur, Jin-Gitaxias, Progress Tyrant, Hullbreaker Horror, Tidespout Tyrant, Ovika, Enigma Goliath, or Ancient Silver Dragon. The deck uses low-cost token generators to create fodder, casts polymorph spells as early as turns 3 to 4, and relies on Kess to recast key spells from the graveyard for seamless recovery. Once a threat enters the battlefield, the pilot leverages cheap cantrips, rituals, and free interaction to bounce opposing permanents, strip hands, or swarm the board with tokens.
