Deck overview

This Dimir control and reanimator deck utilizes Taskmaster, Mercenary Mimic to bypass fatal enter-the-battlefield drawbacks and clone high-impact creatures directly from graveyards or the battlefield. Its primary win condition resolves around tutoring Phage the Untouchable into the graveyard with Entomb or Buried Alive, deploying Taskmaster on curve, and copying Phage at the start of the first main phase. Because Taskmaster is already on the battlefield, he circumvents Phage's self-destruction clause while retaining her one-shot player elimination ability. Supported by evasion enablers like Aqueous Form, Manifold Key, and Thassa, God of the Sea, Taskmaster methodically eliminates opponents across consecutive turns. A potent suite of free and low-cost interaction, including Force of Will, Fierce Guardianship, and Mana Drain, shields this strategy from disruption. Backup lines exploit heavy-hitting threats such as Ancient Silver Dragon, Hullbreaker Horror, and It That Betrays, duplicated through versatile clone effects to overwhelm opponents if graveyard hate intervenes.
