Format: Commander

Commander: Kadena, Slinking Sorcerer

Bracket: 3

Deck overview

Kadena turns face-down spells into a card-drawing, board-developing machine: with her discount, the first 2/2 each turn is free, and every one replaces itself. The deck's primary plan is to amass morph/disguise/manifest creatures, draw through them, and either grind out combat wins with Secret Plans and Ixidor or assemble a hard lock with Brine Elemental and Vesuvan Shapeshifter. Secondary paths use Words of Wind to bounce all permanent types off draw triggers, Ugin's Mastery to double face-down density, and Hullbreaker Horror/Tidespout Tyrant to control the board. Ixidor is the closest thing to a hidden commander because he turns face-downs into 3/3s and enables cheap flips. The commander is the engine; without her, the deck falls back to slower morph value.
