Deck overview

This deck is a high-synergy Mardu Spellslinger-Aristocrats deck commanded by Extus, Oriq Overlord // Awaken the Blood Avatar. The deck focuses on casting low-cost cantrips, rituals, and buyback spells to trigger powerful Magecraft and token-generation abilities. Core creatures like Storm-Kiln Artist, Sedgemoor Witch, Young Pyromancer, and Monastery Mentor turn every noncreature spell into mana, card flow, and disposable creature tokens. These tokens can be sacrificed to cast Awaken the Blood Avatar for just two mana, wiping opposing boards with edicts while creating hasty 3/6 Avatar tokens that drain opponents on attack. Alternatively, the deck can execute a compact infinite combo using Storm-Kiln Artist and Haze of Rage to generate infinite Treasures, storm, and creature power, finishing the game on the spot with burn pingers like Coruscation Mage or Professor Onyx. Dense 1-mana protection spells keep key combo pieces safe from opposing removal.
