Deck overview

This deck is a high-velocity Rakdos combo and burn deck helmed by Smaug the Impenetrable. The strategy revolves around turning self-inflicted noncombat damage into an overwhelming resource engine. Because Smaug is an 8/7 creature with flying, haste, and indestructible, asymmetrical damage sweepers such as Blasphemous Act, Star of Extinction, and Chain Reaction clear opposing boards while generating 13 to 20+ Treasure tokens simultaneously. Alternatively, Dizzying Gaze forms an infinite loop with Smaug, allowing it to ping itself repeatedly to generate infinite Treasure tokens and artifact triggers. The deck converts this massive mana surplus directly into lethal damage through artifact-fall pingers like Reckless Fireweaver and Mirkwood Bats, or massive finishers like Crackle with Power. Efficient ramp, potent rituals, and red redirection spells ensure rapid, protected execution by Turn 5.
