Deck overview

This deck is a Grixis Zombie Aristocrats strategy commanded by Thraximundar. It establishes resilient token generation and graveyard loops using cards like Gravecrawler, Jadar, Ghoulcaller of Nephalia, and Wilhelt, the Rotcleaver. The deck's primary route to victory relies on grinding down opposing boards with persistent edict effects such as Grave Pact, Dictate of Erebos, Archfiend of Depravity, and Fleshbag Marauder. As opposing creatures are systematically cleared, the deck amasses a wide Zombie army buffed by tribal anthems like Death Baron, Undead Warchief, and Gisa, the Hellraiser. Thraximundar serves as a potent late-game hasty curve-topper that forces additional sacrifices on attack and grows rapidly. Life-drain triggers from Diregraf Captain and Mayhem Devil, combined with upkeep life loss from The Scarab God, steadily eliminate the table. Supported by efficient Grixis interaction and countermagic, the deck excels at dominating creature-heavy battlefields and converting death triggers into card advantage and board supremacy.
