Deck overview

This Dimir deck pairs a compact Thassa's Oracle and Demonic Consultation combo with a high-impact reanimation package and incidental mill synergies helmed by Lazav, Familiar Stranger. It utilizes efficient mana rocks and rituals like Dark Ritual to deploy early game engines, while flash hatebears like Opposition Agent and Orcish Bowmasters punish opposing game plans. When working toward its primary win condition, the deck uses premier black and blue tutors to assemble the two-card combo by Turn 4. If the combo is disrupted or delayed, the deck seamlessly transitions into a powerful graveyard-centric plan, using Entomb and cheap reanimation spells to put format-dominating threats like Jin-Gitaxias, Core Augur and Hullbreaker Horror onto the battlefield. This dual-axis game plan makes the deck resilient against diverse forms of interaction, ensuring that answering one threat leaves opponents exposed to the other.
