Deck overview

This Golgari deck pairs classic Elf tribal swarm with an oppressive -1/-1 counter attrition engine led by High Perfect Morcant. In the opening turns, mana dorks such as Elvish Mystic, Llanowar Elves, and Priest of Titania accelerate development. Casting Morcant on Turn 4 immediately weaponizes every subsequent Elf drop, forcing opponents to blight their own creatures while Morcant proliferates those penalties to sweep opposing boards. With enemy blockers minimized, the deck expands its board using token generators like Lys Alana Huntmaster and Lathril, Blade of the Elves, scaling threats via Elvish Archdruid, Dwynen, Gilt-Leaf Daen, and Abomination of Llanowar. If disrupted, mass reanimation from Bloodline Bidding ensures quick recovery, while an incidental combo between Blowfly Infestation and Flourishing Defenses provides an alternative win condition.
