Deck overview

This deck is a Grixis typal aristocrats build commanded by Wick, the Whorled Mind. It combines aggressive low-curve Rat deployment with token generation to systematically grow a singular Snail token into a lethal asset. The deck features a dense 2-CMC mana ramp package that enables Wick to hit the battlefield on Turn 4. From there, Rat enters-the-battlefield triggers scale the Snail's power, setting up massive card advantage and direct damage bursts via Wick's activated ability. Alternative win conditions include evasive alpha strikes with Marrow-Gnawer's fear granting, poison acceleration through Phyresis, Grafted Exoskeleton, and Tainted Strike, and aristocrat drain effects from Blood Artist and Marionette Apprentice. While the deck excels at generating board presence and refilling hand size, its primary vulnerabilities stem from light spot interaction, minimal instant-speed creature protection, and engine reliance on a single fragile token.
