Deck overview

This deck is a high-powered competitive Esper midrange deck centered on Raffine, Scheming Seer. It leverages low-cost creatures and aggressive connive triggers to sculpt winning hands while establishing asymmetric stax pieces like Drannith Magistrate, Cursed Totem, and Opposition Agent to stifle opposing game plans. The deck's primary path to victory is the format-defining combination of Thassa's Oracle with Demonic Consultation or Tainted Pact, backed by an extensive suite of premier black tutors and free countermagic. When racing fast combo decks, the list can deploy proactive silence effects like Grand Abolisher, Silence, and Ranger-Captain of Eos to ensure uncontested win attempts as early as Turn 3. When facing heavy interaction, it pivots into an attrition engine utilizing Rhystic Study, Mystic Remora, Tymna the Weaver, and Necropotence to overwhelm opponents with card volume.
