Deck overview

This Golgari deck helmed by Jenova, Ancient Calamity is a +1/+1 counters and sacrifice/aristocrats hybrid. Jenova dumps a burst of counters on a creature each combat and draws cards whenever a Mutant dies, turning the deck's creatures into both growing threats and card advantage. The plan is to build one or two enormous creatures, then convert them into table-wide drain through Blood Artist-style effects, Jarad, Golgari Lich Lord's sacrifice ability, or the Basking Broodscale + Animation Module infinite Spawn loop. A deep recursion package (Gleancrawler, Victimize, Reassembling Skeleton, Bloodghast) keeps the engine running through wipes. The deck wins primarily through incremental drain and sacrifice value rather than a single fast combo, grinding opponents out over the mid-game.
