Deck overview

This deck is a high-tempo Mardu Vampire tribal aggro list helmed by Edgar Markov. The core strategy leverages Edgar's eminence ability to generate a 1/1 Vampire token each time you cast another Vampire spell, rapidly building a wide board. The deck then deploys anthems like Captivating Vampire, Legion Lieutenant, and Stromkirk Captain to pump the team, while drain effects from Blood Artist, Sanctum Seeker, and Marauding Blight-Priest bleed opponents out simultaneously. The primary win condition is overwhelming combat damage accelerated by Edgar's haste and his attack-triggered +1/+1 counters, backed by incremental life loss from the drain suite. The deck lacks infinite combos and relies on a steady stream of cheap vampires, sacrifice outlets for value, and a handful of card-draw engines to keep the gas flowing.
