Deck overview

This deck is a high-power Dimir Mill and Combo Control build commanded by Phenax, God of Deception. The primary game plan converts creature toughness into mill power, culminating in a compact two-card loop with Eater of the Dead. By tapping Eater to mill 4 cards and untapping it by exiling creature cards from any graveyard, the deck can empty all opposing libraries in a single turn. Dense early acceleration via two-mana artifacts ensures Phenax and combo pieces arrive ahead of curve on Turns 4 to 5. Meanwhile, a premier interaction suite featuring Force of Will, Fierce Guardianship, and Toxic Deluge protects combo turns and disrupts opponents. If Phenax is removed, independent win conditions like Bruvac the Grandiloquent with kicked Maddening Cacophony or Mindcrank with Syr Konrad, the Grim close out the game with minimal delay.
