Deck overview

This deck is a focused Golgari aristocrats combo deck led by Gorma, the Gullet. Gorma's static ability grants nontoken creatures an additional +1/+1 counter for each creature that died under your control this turn. When a persist creature like Putrid Goblin or Lesser Masticore dies and returns to the battlefield, persist places a -1/-1 counter on it while Gorma provides a +1/+1 counter. State-based actions immediately remove both counters, resetting the persist creature completely. By combining this engine with a free sacrifice outlet like Viscera Seer or Ashnod's Altar and a drain payoff like Blood Artist or Bastion of Remembrance, the deck generates infinite death triggers and drains all three opponents to zero life in a single turn.
