Dungeon Master Obeka by Patei

Format: Commander

Commander: Obeka, Splitter of Seconds

Bracket: 4

DeckCheck Threat Index: 51

Deck overview

This deck leverages Obeka, Splitter of Seconds to break the symmetry of upkeep triggers. By ensuring Obeka connects in combat through evasion spells, equipment, and innate menace, the deck gains extra upkeep steps equal to the combat damage dealt. These extra upkeeps supercharge powerful Grixis permanents such as Court of Ambition, Court of Ire, Plargg and Nassari, and Twilight Prophet. Speedrunning initiative dungeons like Undercity rapidly buffs Obeka and drains opponents. Backed by free protective counterspells and unblockable enablers, the deck quickly transitions from early ramp into an overwhelming engine that strips opposing hands and burns the table out over two decisive combat steps.
