Deck overview

This deck is an Orzhov Aristocrats and Angel midrange deck led by Liesa, Forgotten Archangel. The strategy centers on deploying resilient utility creatures, sacrifice outlets, and life-drain payoffs to control the board and grind down opponents. Liesa, Forgotten Archangel provides asymmetric advantage by recurring your own dying nontoken creatures at each end step while permanently exiling opposing dying creatures. Paired with attrition enchantments like Grave Pact and Dictate of Erebos, the deck systematically strips opposing creature boards. Victory is achieved through evasive aerial attacks powered by Archangel of Thune and Cathars' Crusade, alongside incremental life drain from Blood Artist, Zulaport Cutthroat, and Elas il-Kor, Sadistic Pilgrim. The deck features excellent creature shielding through Mother of Runes, Selfless Spirit, and Flawless Maneuver, but lacks dedicated fast mana and universal tutors, leading to a steady, fair midrange pacing that closes games around Turn 9.
