Deck overview

This Selesnya deck is a synergistic Cat Kindred and Pillowfort strategy commanded by Mirri, Weatherlight Duelist. The game plan revolves around exploiting Mirri's asymmetric combat abilities to break combat parity entirely. When Mirri attacks, defending opponents may only declare a single blocking creature, allowing a wide army of Cat tokens and synergistic lords to push massive unblocked damage through. Defensively, keeping Mirri tapped restricts each attacking opponent to a single attacker per combat, which is further suppressed by taxing and restriction cards like Dueling Grounds, Ghostly Prison, Crawlspace, and Sphere of Safety. Card advantage engines like Guardian Project, Tocasia's Welcome, and Kutzil, Malamet Exemplar keep hands full, while anthems such as Beastmaster Ascension, King of the Pride, and Bast, Panther Goddess rapidly escalate the clock to close the game across multiple combat rounds.
