Deck overview

This Esper control-combo deck helmed by Y'shtola, Night's Blessed leverages life-drain triggers, card advantage, and a dense stack-interaction suite to grind value before pivoting to one of several compact infinite combo wins. The commander's end-step draw condition (triggered when any player lost 4+ life that turn) and her noncreature spell pings reward a high density of 3+ MV noncreature spells, including enchantments and artifacts that draw cards or drain opponents. The primary win condition is the Exquisite Blood + Vito, Thorn of the Dusk Rose / Enduring Tenacity infinite life-loss loop, with Demonic Consultation + Thassa's Oracle as a backup, and Notion Thief + Windfall to draw the entire deck. A robust counterspell suite (13+ counters, multiple free options) and stax pieces like Smothering Tithe, Esper Sentinel, and Opposition Agent protect the combo turn while generating value.
