Deck overview

This Mardu deck utilizes Zurgo Stormrender to merge aggressive token combat with traditional aristocrats drain. The game plan focuses on deploying low-cost attack-triggered token creators such as Ainok Strike Leader, Anim Pakal, Thousandth Moon, and Adeline, Resplendent Cathar. When these creatures attack alongside Zurgo, they produce attacking tokens that can be sacrificed during combat for immediate card draw, or allowed to die at the end step to drain all opponents. Burn and drain multipliers like Impact Tremors, Warleader's Call, and Mirkwood Bats accelerate the clock, converting wide token creation and sacrifice triggers into lethal multi-target damage. With an assembly turn of 4 and critical onset on Turn 5, the deck reliably closes games on Turn 6 through overwhelming damage. While resilient to targeted removal thanks to heavy card redundancy, the deck is vulnerable to well-timed board sweepers and lacks stack-based interaction.
