Deck overview

This deck is a five-color spellslinger strategy led by Codie, Vociferous Codex. The game plan revolves around deploying Codie on Turn 3, then utilizing its activated ability on Turn 4 to fix mana, ramp into high-impact sorceries, and trigger free cascade-style spells from the library. As spells resolve, the graveyard fills with instants and sorceries, fueling large payoff cards like Rise from the Tides, Furygale Flocking, and Ghastly Conscription. Because Codie forbids casting permanent spells, the 99 is composed almost exclusively of instants, sorceries, and lands. The deck wins through combat by creating overwhelming armies of Zombie, Beast, Dragon, and Elemental tokens. While the engine generates substantial card flow and mana tempo, it relies heavily on Codie surviving and features limited instant-speed stack protection, making careful timing and efficient removal management critical to victory.
