Deck overview

This mono-red tribal deck harnesses Lathliss, Dragon Queen to transform high-cost Dragon creature spells into an overwhelming airborne army. The primary strategy accelerates through early mana rocks and tribal cost reducers such as Dragonspeaker Shaman and Herald's Horn to deploy Lathliss on Turn 5. On subsequent turns, each non-token Dragon cast doubles in board presence by generating a 5/5 flying Dragon token, rapidly establishing a critical mass of evasive flying threats. Synergistic payoffs like Dragon Tempest, Scourge of Valkas, and Terror of Mount Velus convert creature deployment directly into immediate burn damage and lethal double strike attacks. Asymmetric sweepers like Desolation of Smaug and Breath Weapon clear opposing ground armies and mana dorks while leaving the Dragon fleet unharmed. While the deck possesses explosive midgame combat power, it is vulnerable to well-timed board wipes and single-target removal targeting Lathliss, necessitating careful sequencing and aggressive combat pressure.
