Deck overview

This is an Izzet spellslinger deck built almost entirely around Niv-Mizzet, Parun. The primary plan is to resolve Parun and convert every draw into a damage trigger. The clean kill is with the hidden combo partner Niv-Mizzet, Visionary: Parun pings, Visionary replaces that damage with a draw, and the loop becomes infinite. The deck supports this with dense draw spells, copy effects like Thousand-Year Storm, wizard cost reduction, and counterspell backup. Secondary paths are incremental burn from Geistflame Reservoir, a hand-size win with Triskaidekaphile, and wizard beatdown under Adeliz. Without Parun, the deck loses both its engine and its main win condition, so he is essential.
