Deck overview

This deck is a synergistic Mardu Reanimator strategy commanded by Celes, Rune Knight. The plan accelerates into early mana rocks, deposits high-impact creature bombs into the graveyard using Celes's enter-the-battlefield discard or targeted grave tutors like Entomb and Buried Alive, and reanimates them using efficient spells such as Reanimate, Animate Dead, and Victimize. Once a premier threat like Archon of Cruelty, Valgavoth, Terror Eater, or Sheoldred, Whispering One enters from the graveyard, Celes continuously distributes +1/+1 counters across your board, rapidly scaling combat damage while applying asymmetric sacrifice and discard pressure on opponents. The deck supplements this core engine with blink effects like Ephemerate and death-defying instants like Not Dead After All that double as protection and trigger multipliers. It closes games by establishing overwhelming board dominance and eliminating opponents through high-powered, evasive combat damage and life-drain attrition around Turn 7.
