Grixis - Azula by Davenex

Format: Commander

Commander: Fire Lord Azula

Bracket: 4

Deck overview

This Grixis deck is a spellslinger combo deck built around Fire Lord Azula's combat-phase copy engine: she attacks, floats her firebending {R}{R}, and every spell cast while she is attacking gets copied. The list is designed to turn that single combat into a giant storm turn - ritual mana (Dark Ritual, Cabal Ritual, Seething Song, Blazing Firesinger // Seething Song, Birgi, God of Storytelling) fuels magecraft chains through Archmage Emeritus, Ashling, Flame Dancer, and Professor Onyx, while Reiterate buys back into infinite red and Torment of Hailfire or Electrodominance closes the game. A second, graveyard-based axis - Prismari, the Inspiration, Lier, Disciple of the Drowned, Kess, Dissident Mage, and Mizzix's Mastery - makes the deck dangerous from both hand and yard. Wins are almost always a single overwhelming copied-spell combat, with drain and recursion as the long-game backstop.
